About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer to join our team, providing students with the skills they need to succeed in their futures. This rewarding role involves delivering high-quality education and inspiring students to reach their full potential through engaging teaching and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Assessment: Deliver and assess a range of courses, conducting all necessary planning, preparation, and marking to ensure students receive an excellent education.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage essential administrative duties, including student registration, attendance, record-keeping, and reporting. Work closely with parents or guardians as needed.
  • Curriculum Planning: Develop lesson plans and schemes of work, meeting the standards of the academic calendar and quality requirements.
  • Career Preparation: Prepare students for higher education and career readiness by integrating vocational and employability skills into the curriculum.
  • Enrichment and Guidance: Work with Personal Development Coordinators and the course team to promote enrichment activities, work experience, and offer on-course guidance to support student success.
  • Pastoral and Academic Support: Oversee the academic and pastoral care of assigned student groups, tracking attendance, punctuality, assignment progress, and setting SMART targets.
  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to internal quality assurance processes, meet external accreditation standards, and participate in quality assessments and moderation.

Objectives:

  • Recruit the right students for the right courses, ensuring a positive learning experience.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Achieve quality assurance standards, including meeting requirements from awarding bodies.
  • Collaborate with Student Services to support students appropriately, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Ensure effective data management within your curriculum area.

Departmental Role: Reporting to the Curriculum Manager, you will work closely with your Programme Leader and Curriculum Team Leader on performance metrics such as student recruitment, retention, achievement, attendance, and punctuality. You’ll be part of a collaborative teaching team, sharing best practices and contributing to cross-departmental projects as needed.
