Populus Select are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to join our clientsour finance team:

Key responsibilities include accurate product costing, budget management, inventory control, and expense analysis. The role requires close collaboration with commercial and operations teams to ensure clear financial insights and drive financial accuracy across projects.

Responsibilities:

Conduct product costing for commercial/sales teams and support cost-of-goods analysis.
Investigate and report on sales and production variances.
Manage ERP (Microsoft Navision) and lead integration to SAP (upcoming).
Prepare and update management accounts, budgets, and forecast reports monthly.
Collaborate with budget holders on cost-center review, analysis, and variance investigation.
Oversee Accounts Payable team member, ensuring timely processing.
Maintain standard costs in ERP and reconcile inventory systems.
Conduct ad hoc financial projects as assigned.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft Navision); SAP migration experience preferred.
3+ years in cost accounting or management accounting, ideally within manufacturing.
Strong Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills.
Costing experience: CoGS, BoMS, WIP, inventory, and variance analysis.
SEMA-qualified (CIMA Part Qualified minimum); AAT background also welcome.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to relay updates transparently to the Financial Controller.
Positive, self-driven, and adaptable to change.
