Our client, based in Teesside, is looking for a Project Engineer to assist the Project Manager in technical aspects of sustaining (M&R) and growth CAPEX project development and delivery. The role will require leading the management of projects assigned by the PM.

Hours of work would beMonday to Friday 08.00am - 4.00pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe delivery of projects that meet agreed objectives and key results, within authorised budgets and to agreed schedules.
  • Oversee multi-disciplined contract engineers who conduct engineering activities
  • Ensure that all work is safely executed and in full compliance with company standards and UK/European legislation.
  • Timely and accurate development of project proposals in response to Commercial Enquiries
  • Ensure compliance with procurement, management of change and commissioning and handover procedures
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments and process hazard analysis studies.
  • Support the project manager in assembling cost estimates and schedules.
  • Develop technical documentation e.g. Basis of Designs and Scope of Works for RFP
  • Coordinate Subject Matter Expert reviews of technical documentation produced in house and by design houses/consultants.
  • Manage project technical queries and hold lists.
  • Develop pre-commissioning and commissioning plans.
  • Support the project manager in organising project reviews, e.g. design, constructability and Human Factors/ Ergonomics


Requirements:

  • A relevant engineering degree or similar
  • External accreditation with a recognised project management methodology (PMP/Prince 2)
  • Experience working in project teams within process, chemical or petrochemical and COMAH sites
  • Health and Safety awareness including; COSHH
