About the Hospice

This Hospice supports over 3,000 people each year in Tees Valley who have been affected by terminal illness to make the most of every day, ensuring they receive the best possible care catered to their individual needs. They do this through offering outreach, inpatient care, a wellbeing centre, bereavement support and a Lymphoedema Clinic. They aim to support people to stay as independent as possible for as long as possible, and they bring people together to ensure that everyone gets to live well until the very end.

Founded by local people, the hospice focuses on the Tees Valley area, primarily in Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland. They understand the lives, community and culture of the local area, and are well placed to provide effective and individual care to those they support. The hospice lives by their values of being accountable, trustworthy, principled, skilled and compassionate, and are looking for whoever joins the charity to have these values too.

About the role

We're looking for someone to lead and develop the fundraising department and strategy so the hospice can continue to provide its crucial support to those who need it. You'll oversee cultivate relationships with donors, drive innovative fundraising campaigns, and manage a dedicated team who will also be working diligently to support the charity to meet the needs of and be there for people with a terminal illness.

You’ll also identify new fundraising opportunities, foster a high-performing team environment, cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, providing excellent stewardship to ensure donor retention. You will oversee major fundraising campaigns, and manage the fundraising budget, maximising return on investment.

About you

The Hospice’s next Head of Fundraising will be a natural leader, with the ability and experience of developing and inspiring a busy team, cultivating a culture of excellence and accountability. You’ll  be an expert relationship builder, able to bring in new donors, and inspire and manage existing donors. We are open to income stream specialism/track record and are also very interested in talking to candidates who are looking to take that next step up into a leadership role.
