Head of QualityLocation: Middlesbrough / hybridSalary: £41,862 - £45,705 per annumHours: 37 hours per week / 008:30am - 17:00pmType: PermanentThe purpose of the Head of Quality - Apprenticeships role is to lead and drive the strategic direction, implementation, and enhancement of quality assurance processes across the college's apprenticeships provision. The role is focused on ensuring the highest standards in teaching, learning, and assessment, aligning apprenticeship delivery with both internal standards and regulatory requirements.Duties:Quality Assurance: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality assurance processes for all apprenticeship programmes, ensuring compliance with external regulatory bodies such as Ofsted and ESFA.SAR and QIP Management: Oversee the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) for apprenticeship programmes, ensuring accurate reporting and effective implementation of improvement actions.Curriculum Development: Collaborate with curriculum leaders to design, evaluate, and enhance apprenticeship curriculum, ensuring they meet industry standards and the needs of apprentices.Audit and Compliance: Lead the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and processes comply with relevant policies, regulations and standards.Performance Monitoring and data analysis: Regularly monitor the performance of apprenticeship programmes through data analysis, observation, and stakeholder feedback, providing actionable insights and outcomes.Performance Improvement: Implement performance improvement strategies in collaboration with departments, aiming to meet and exceed measurable targets for apprenticeship programmes.Observation of Teaching, Learning and Assessment: Conduct learning walks, walk-throughs and observations to identify and share good practices while addressing areas needing improvement.Standardisation and Best Practice: Ensure standardised practices across apprenticeship provision, embedding and sharing best practices across the college.Staff Training and Development: Provide training and support to staff to ensure high-quality teaching, assessment, and support practices in apprenticeship delivery.Line management: Line management of the apprenticeship quality team.Quality Assurance Meetings: Participate in monthly quality assurance meetings, monitoring apprentice progress and implementing necessary improvement strategies.Equality and Diversity: Show an active commitment to the college’s equality and diversity policy, quality frameworks, and health & safety procedures.Continuous Professional Development: Actively participate in continuous professional development, including the adoption of new technologies, to contribute effectively to the success of the college.Responsive Duties: Understand that the college may (in consultation with you) need to vary these duties from time to time to respond to the changing requirements of the college.Requirements:GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 and above (or equivalent)Proven experience in a quality management role within an apprenticeship or further education context, with a track record of driving continuous improvement.Curriculum Design and Delivery: Experience in developing and delivering apprenticeship programmes, including working with employers to tailor training to meet industry needs.Leadership: Experience in leading teams and providing professional development to staff involved in apprenticeship delivery.Audit and Compliance: Experience in preparing for and managing external inspections, audits, or reviews, with a strong understanding of compliance requirements.
