Health, Safety and Environmental Manager

We are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager for a successful company based in Middlesbrough. In this role, you will establish, implement, and maintain procedures that uphold the company’s commitment to safety and environmental excellence. You will work closely with the Operations Director to enhance Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and uphold occupational health, safety, and environmental systems and procedures
• Provide expert advice and guidance on HSE matters to Line Management
• Assist in accident investigations and ensure the implementation of preventative measures
• Manage incident, near-miss, and safety observation systems
• Present OH&S statistics and reports to senior management monthly
• Implement action plans and improvement projects
• Provide comprehensive OH&S training to all employees
• Conduct Health and Safety inductions for new employees
• Provide guidance on safe systems of work
• Support the creation of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)

Experience & Qualifications:

• NEBOSH Diploma in Safety or Environment
• Environmental certificate or qualification
• Experience in a safety-focused role within heavy industry or manufacturing
• Experience in a management role
