Engineering Team Leader

Location: Middlesbrough

Salary: Negotiable

Hours: 4 on 4 off days

Reporting to: Engineering Supervisor

Type: Permanent

Imperial Recruitment Group is recruiting for a national manufacturer who is looking to appoint an Engineering Team Leader to be based at their Middlesbrough site.

Purpose:

Will take an active part in maintaining, developing, and improving plant machinery and services. This will involve a variety of duties ranging from promptly repairing breakdowns to installing new equipment. Ensuring that Health & Safety and Quality Standards are achieved in all aspects of their work.

Duties:

  • General maintenance duties.
  • Supervisor other shift engineers and machine minders
  • To ensure daily engineering tasks are completed. This includes signing all tool kits. Carry our spot check on other engineers tool kits. Ensure all aspects of breakdown sheets are completed. Check other breakdown sheets and ensure other engineers complete there breakdown sheets.
  • Detail work to other engineering members
  • Liaise with Engineering supervisor.
  • In the absence of the site engineering manager, deputise. Act as a point if contact to the site management team, Senior Engineering manager and Manufacturing director.
  • Daily duties will include:
    • Electrical/Electronics, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Conveyors (wirebelt).
    • Installations, strong fault finding is essential, Inspections, Servicing.
  • Planned preventative maintenance.
  • Project improvement schemes.
  • Maintenance, installations and repair of electrical/mechanical equipment.
  • Contribute to improvement.
  • Participate in development activities as required.
  • Any other duties that could reasonably be expected as being within the remit of the post.
  • Drive site efficiency in a forward direction. Have a desire to drive engineering forward and show passion towards other customers e.g. production, NPD technical
  • Organise engineering tasks, and prioritise work loads of other shift engineers
  • To ensure weekend workloads is completed effectively

Requirements:

  • Qualified multi-skilled engineer with electrical bias, a proven track record and strong engineering background.
  • Experience of PLC/HMI controls with 17th Edition.
  • Experienced in fast moving engineering environment, ideally food related.
  • Must have good leadership skills, be flexible with a "can do attitude" and forward thinking.
  • Good time management skills,
  • An excellent knowledge of fault finding and preventative maintenance
  • The ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative.
