Company Overview:In line with business, client and legislative requirements be responsible for the management of the Biomass Power Plant, ensuring compliance to and delivery of the company’s Operating Standards through leadership, direction and management of strategy, actions and results.

Successfully lead, engage and manage the operations and maintenance site teams in consistent implementation of the above.

Role Overview:

• In line with company and client requirements, the delivery of safe, effective running of the Biomass Power Plant. Ensuring all SHEQ, legislative and business requirements are met, maintained and improved.

• Be the site role model consistently demonstrating companies zero harm SHEQ and risk management strategies, Company values, behaviours, policies, culture and practices.

• Build, maintain and manage effective and timely client relationships balancing and delivering companies and client requirements to ensure safe, efficient asset running and excellent & adaptable customer/client service.

• Develop, lead, communicate and deliver the Annual Operating Plan, including overall philosophy, procedures and systems for the site. Consistently achieve required performance measures and statutory and management reporting. Ensure their effective communication, understanding and monitoring by all employees.

• Effectively plan, justify, control and optimise budgets, financial considerations and contracts. • Work effectively and positively with all company employees, customers, clients, contractors and external authorities, to both promote the business and deliver site and client requirements.

• Actively support and seek opportunities to support the growth and development of the company’s business, working with New Ventures, existing clients and local business infrastructures, to maximise opportunities.

• Develop, maintain and actively work with authorities (HSE, EA, Local Councils, Police & Fire Services), Partners and local community representatives to demonstrate company commitment to, and compliance with regulations.

• Be an active member of the company’s plant managers forum, sharing best practice & supporting others.

• Actively work with the Site Director / Manager of Site Operations to identify, develop and implement CAPEX projects designed to improve site safety or efficiencies.

• Oversee, orchestrate and be responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of outages and critical maintenance intervals of both plants.

• As required, to provide out of hours and emergency call out support.

• Maintain professional competency by actively developing new and enhancing existing skills and knowledge and positively present the role of Plant Manager and the business to all.

• Responsible for all day-to-day management activities for team, ensuring that your team are engaged and meeting performance targets or tackling issues at the earliest opportunity. • Lead the completion of all annual performance management activities relating to your team, ensuring deadlines are met.

• Responsible for ensuring team members are technically competent to safely undertake their job roles and display required behavioural competencies.

• Responsible for overall health and wellbeing of the team.

To be considered for the role you will have:• Demonstrable experience as a Plant Manager of a large plant• A degree or equivalent qualified in Engineering discipline.• Experience in the energy industry or other related major hazard industries. • Experience in management of energy related assets. • Operated at senior management level in the same of equivalent industries.• Think at a strategic level whilst when necessary able to grasp the details involved in managing day to day performance of Biomass Plant.• Able to manage the complexities and challenges associated with managing and motivating staff in a safety target driven / cultural / client / service contracts environment.• Management experience of a team/site including coaching, managing performance and absence. • Be comfortable attending a power plant, at a site of ongoing work and control the situation/be willing to join in for a better outcome.
