Job Specification: Working Site Manager for Hotel Refurbishment Projects

Location: Edinburgh

Salary: £20 per hour (CIS)

Package: Digs, Expenses, 25 days holiday

Shifts/Days: Monday - Friday, 7am - 6pm

Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Working Site Manager with a joinery background to manage fast-track refurbishment and fit-out projects. Our client, an established hospitality and retail contractor, is working on multiple prestigious projects, including refurbishments for IHG Hotels, Hotel Du Vin, Malmaison, and restaurants for Gordon Ramsay.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to get stuck in with hands-on work when required. You will be working on multiple hotel and retail fit-outs across various locations, including a hotel refurbishment in Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Management: Oversee daily operations on site, ensuring projects are completed to schedule and to high standards.

Team Supervision: Manage subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to the project plan and deadlines.

Hands-On Role: Be ready to roll up your sleeves and assist with joinery and on-site tasks when necessary.

Health & Safety: Conduct regular site audits and ensure the site remains compliant with health & safety regulations.

Client-Facing: Liaise with clients, providing updates, addressing concerns, and maintaining good relationships.

Documentation: Maintain daily site reports and project documentation, ensuring all paperwork is up to date and accurate.

Skills & Experience Required:

Joinery Background: Proven experience as a joiner with a strong knowledge of joinery work in the construction industry.

Site Management: Experience as a site manager or working foreman on fast-track fit-out projects.

Refurbishment Projects: Experience in hotel refurbishments and large-scale fit-outs.

Certifications: SMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme) and First Aid certification are essential.

Client-Facing: Comfortable managing client relationships and presenting to clients.

Driving License: Must have a full, valid UK driving license.

Ideal Candidate:

Working Approach: A proactive, hands-on individual who is comfortable leading by example and stepping in to assist with tasks when necessary.

CIS Only: This position is offered through CIS (Construction Industry Scheme), and we will not consider PAYE applicants.
