Shift Manager - Sedgefield (Manufacturing)

Tranquil Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to lead a multi-disciplined manufacturing unit based in Sedgefield. This position covers decoration, thermoforming, extrusion, granulation, and warehouse operations, with materials such as PP & PET. The Shift Manager will oversee a team of 25+ employees (including agency workers), ensuring the smooth running of production, meeting health and safety standards, quality control, and operational KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example, ensuring a safe, efficient workplace.
  • Manage quality control and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor production output and minimize wastage.
  • Manage shift operations, liaising with support functions.
  • Oversee staff attendance and performance, conducting reviews and maintaining discipline.
  • Implement improvements to enhance productivity and safety.
  • Provide shift reports on performance, downtime, and output.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in shift management in a manufacturing environment.
  • ILM Level 3/5 or equivalent is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment (12-hour rotating shifts) 3 on 3 off days and nights.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting preferred.

Benefits:

  • Salary £36,000 - £37,700 (depending on experience).
  • Weekly or monthly pay options.
  • Overtime premium (1.25x).
