About the Role:

As an ECT Maths Teacher, you will teach Maths to secondary school students, planning and delivering lessons that align with the national curriculum. You will work closely with experienced teachers, receiving mentoring and support throughout your ECT journey. The school offers a structured induction programme, helping you grow and develop as a teacher.

Key Responsibilities of a ECT Maths Teacher:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Maths lessons that meet curriculum standards.
  • Use creative teaching methods to inspire students and improve their problem-solving skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, giving constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation.
  • Work alongside colleagues, parents, and school leaders to support the school community.
  • Participate in CPD and the school's ECT induction programme.

Requirements to be a ECT Maths Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS as part of the ECT programme.
  • Experience in teaching or tutoring Maths, ideally in a secondary school.
  • A degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching.
  • Good communication and classroom management skills.
  • Updated CV (covering the last 10 years, with no unexplained gaps).
  • Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willing to apply).
