Our client is currently looking for a dedicated Plater to join their team within the Oil & Gas equipment manufacturing sector. With a heritage spanning over four decades, they pride themselves on delivering high-quality subsea components and systems. This role is an excellent opportunity to become part of a respected engineering group that employs a skilled workforce of nearly 300.
Day to Day of the role:
- Cutting plate and prepping pipe, including dressing of material and marking out set outs for the manufacturing of fabrications.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure precise and high-quality work.
- Pipe fitting in accordance with project requirements, adhering to tight tolerances and customer specifications.
- Utilising measuring equipment effectively, with Faro arm experience being beneficial.
- Manufacturing jigs and fixtures to support project and customer requirements.
- Focusing on ‘right first time’ production to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
- Collaborating within a team environment and contributing to a positive work atmosphere.
- Being flexible and willing to work overtime or shifts when required to meet customer needs.
- Training and mentoring others, sharing knowledge and expertise.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Competence in cutting plate and prepping pipe with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven experience in reading and working to engineering drawings.
- Essential pipe fitting experience.
- Ability to work to tight tolerances and customer specifications.
- Experience with measuring equipment, with Faro arm experience being advantageous.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying work demands and willingness to work additional hours if needed.
Working Hours:
- 38 hours basic per week
- Monday to Thursday: 7.30am to 4pm
- Friday: 7.30am to 1.30pm
