Where you will be working:

Location: Lower East Street, Middlehaven, Middlesbrough, TS2 1SW

You will be working at The Bridge, a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service. Providing care and support for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries. You will be working alongside the multidisciplinary team to deliver truly person-centred services where each individual is at the heart of everything. As a care centre, this service is a home from home offering ensuite accommodation and spacious communal areas with dedicated therapy spaces.

Working 16.5 a week, you will lead group therapeutic group sessions, helping people develop and improve their speech and communication. Building one-to-one rapport with service users, you will encourage engagement and empower recovery.You will have experience in managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans. 

With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you’ll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of training courses to support you reach your career goals

As a Speech and Language Therapist you will be:

  • Demonstrating specialist skills in dealing with complex cases, cultural and linguistic differences, and to generate appropriate strategies for caseload management. 
  • Undertaking audits and contributing to research in the provision of treatments.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • HCPC registration
  • Experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia
  • Experience of working with families
  • Evidence of continuing Professional Development
