We are on the lookout for an Assistant Management Accountant to join an evolving finance team based in Milton Keynes. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this is a brand-new role where you’ll have the opportunity to shape and implement financial processes and add real value from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, analysing performance by service line.
- Accrue revenue and sub-contractor costs, investigating anomalies.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and flag any risk areas.
- Expand reporting capabilities to deliver more meaningful, timely insights.
- Raise verified client invoices weekly using invoice discounting processes.
- Use business understanding and analytics to ensure invoicing accuracy.
- Maintain up-to-date invoice and receivables trackers.
- Assist with sub-contractor invoice processing and payroll tasks.
- Support VAT account reconciliation and ensure timely PAYE/VAT payments.
- Work closely with auditors, providing required transactional information.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Ideally part-qualified AAT/ACCA/CIMA.
- Strong Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, pivot tables).
- Clear, confident communicator - especially with non-finance colleagues.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
