We are on the lookout for an Assistant Management Accountant to join an evolving finance team based in Milton Keynes. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this is a brand-new role where you’ll have the opportunity to shape and implement financial processes and add real value from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, analysing performance by service line.
  • Accrue revenue and sub-contractor costs, investigating anomalies.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and flag any risk areas.
  • Expand reporting capabilities to deliver more meaningful, timely insights.
  • Raise verified client invoices weekly using invoice discounting processes.
  • Use business understanding and analytics to ensure invoicing accuracy.
  • Maintain up-to-date invoice and receivables trackers.
  • Assist with sub-contractor invoice processing and payroll tasks.
  • Support VAT account reconciliation and ensure timely PAYE/VAT payments.
  • Work closely with auditors, providing required transactional information.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ideally part-qualified AAT/ACCA/CIMA.
  • Strong Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, pivot tables).
  • Clear, confident communicator - especially with non-finance colleagues.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
