A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller, specifically with a background in the hotel industry.

In tis key position, you take charge of all financial aspects of hotel operations, providing strategic leadership in financial management, implement cost-control measures and drive profitability ensuring financial stability for the hotel.

You must have your own transport to travel to the property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver monthly weekly and monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets
  • Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process, providing in-depth financial analysis
  • Monitor income streams and expenditures, implementing cost-control measures to enhance profitability
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of departmental and overhead expenses to identify opportunities for increasing profitability
  • Supervise payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Liaise with external auditors, supporting the audit process and preparing accurate financial records for review
  • Assist in managing of outstanding debtors, credit control and payment processing
  • Develop, implement and periodically review standard operating procedures
  • Evaluate existing financial controls, introduce enhancements, and implement new measures to minimise risk and prevent losses
  • Manage site cash flow, oversee float reconciliations, process personal expenses and ensure accurate End of Day financial reporting
  • Manage and report on food & beverage margins, cost trends, and financial discrepancies, including refunds, voids and discounts
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering professional growth and performance

What They’re Looking For:

  • A commercially minded professional with at least five years of experience managing finances within the hotel industry
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong financial modelling and forecasting abilities
  • The ability to present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner
  • Capable of driving profitability by identifying revenue opportunities and cost-saving measures
  • Exceptional attention to detail, high organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and influence skills
  • Proficient in Sage and advanced Microsoft Excel, with experience using data analysis tools
  • Familiarity with key hotel performance metrics, such as RevPAR, GOPPAR, and ADR, is desirable.
