We are recruiting for a firm of accountants based in Milton Keynes who are hiring 2 exciting job vacancies during a period of growth and expansion.

The firm explained they have a requirement for a Junior / Graduate Tax Associate, who will ideally have a minimum of 1 year experience, and will consider graduates that have gained some practical experience in a tax environment.

They are also looking for a Semi-Senior / Senior Tax Associate to take on further responsibilities. You will ideally have a minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience working in tax previously. This role will include more complex tax so experience is essential. You will also be responsible for assisting junior staff members.

Responsibilities for Junior Vacancy:

  • Prepare personal tax returns for a range of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Assist with the preparation of corporate tax returns under the supervision of senior team members.
  • Work within TaxCalc software to process and submit tax returns efficiently.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate client tax records within the firm’s digital systems.
  • Liaise with HMRC regarding routine tax queries and submissions.
  • Review client-provided information to ensure completeness and request any missing details.
  • Support senior tax professionals in handling client tax compliance matters.
  • Stay informed of relevant tax legislation and compliance updates.
  • Work collaboratively within the office-based team, ensuring deadlines are met.

Responsibilities for Semi-Senior/Senior Vacancy:

  • Prepare and review personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Support and mentor junior tax team members, providing guidance on tax compliance and software use (TaxCalc).
  • Manage R&D tax relief claims, gathering necessary documentation and preparing reports for submission.
  • Handle capital gains tax calculations, ensuring correct reporting and compliance.
  • Provide tax advisory services to clients on a range of matters, including tax planning and structuring.
  • Liaise with HMRC on client queries, tax investigations, and compliance matters.
  • Ensure all tax work is completed accurately and on time, managing deadlines effectively.
  • Stay up to date with tax legislation changes and advise the team on relevant updates.
  • Collaborate with other departments where tax matters impact wider accounting services.
