Management Accountant - FTC for 6-9 months

35 Hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our passionate L&D client, who has employees in the US and UK. They are an award winning, market leading brand in the Leadership and Management digital learning space. As an integral part of the Finance team, you'll be responsible for the internal and external reporting - producing monthly Management Accounts and annual statutory Financial Statements, as well as leading on the year end audit. Managing a team of 2, You will effectively collaborate remotely with colleagues all over the UK and US, you'll also be responsible for business partnering a number of departments within the business, supporting on commercial decisions and business cases. You'll have great exposure to the Senior Leadership Team and Operational Board within a rapidly growing and exciting business.

Your Key Responsibilities as Management Accountant will be:

  • Month End journals and reconciliations
  • Reconciling Monthly UK Payroll and US Bi-weekly payroll reports, as well as ensuring all relevant employment tax payments are made, on time.
  • Managing the Purchase and Sales Ledger Team of 2.
  • Production and posting of key journals including accruals, prepayments, accrued and deferred income.
  • Conduct analysis of data to support progress against KPI's.
  • Be the key contact for the Annual Audit and managing the year end statutory Audit process.
  • Develop robust processes and controls to ensure risks are managed.
  • Assist in the production of accurate monthly Management Accounts.
  • Reconciling Quarterly VAT and foreign Tax Return preparation and submission
  • Ad hoc projects
  • Assist with budgets, cashflow and forecasts.
  • Manage month end for the group, including preparation for payments.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Drive efficiencies, streamline and automate in relation to the Month End Close and work closely with the wider Operational Teams, to ensure alignment.

What skills and Experience are we looking for?

  • Fully Qualified accountant ACCA/CIMA/ACA
  • Strong Audit experience
  • Very Strong Excel Skills - including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP's
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (experience in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central would be an advantage)
  • Knowledge of Power BI would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
