Position Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Accountant to join an excellent utilities company based in Milton Keynes. This role would be on a temporary basis, with potential to be extended up to 12 months.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely posting of sales and purchase invoices, credit control, ledger reconciliation and supporting the finance team with other duties as required. This role will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial data and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in day-to-day financial tasks, including data entry, processing invoices, and reconciling accounts.
  • Support in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.
  • Help maintain financial records and ensure compliance with company policies.

What you'll bring:

Qualifications:

  • A background in finance or accounting (ideally AAT studier).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
