Assistant Accountant - 6-- 9 month contract

up to £39,000

Location:Milton Keynes

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Assistant to join our clients logistics finance team. The ideal candidate will support the Finance Manager with various financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing financial transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to enhance their finance experience in a dynamic work environment, with the potential for a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Invoice Processing - Ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices.
Assisting with Payment Runs - Supporting the preparation and execution of payment runs.
Cash Allocation - Managing the allocation of both incoming and outgoing cash transactions.
Month-End Duties, including:
- Prepayments
- Accruals
- Ledger Reconciliations
- Trial Balances
- Sales Reporting & Analysis
General Ledger Reconciliations & Analysis - Ensuring accurate financial records and reporting.
VAT Reporting - Assisting in the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
General Ad Hoc Finance Tasks - Supporting various finance-related duties as required.
Finance Manager Support - Providing assistance with day-to-day financial operations.

Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in a finance/accounting role is essential.
Strong understanding of financial processes and reconciliations.
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and/or SAP is highly desirable.
Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
