Company Overview:Join an established, fast-growing business in Milton Keynes as an Assistant Accountant. Support the Financial Controller in delivering key financial functions and help drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Financial Controller in producing monthly management accounts
  • Manage invoicing, ensuring alignment with contracts
  • Develop and maintain sales reporting
  • Handle accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Assist with payroll, VAT returns, and membership direct debits
  • Oversee purchase ledger and supplier BACS payments
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and manage credit card transactions
  • Assist with the annual external audit and financial analysis

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
  • Proficient in balance sheet reconciliation and management accounting
  • AAT qualified or studying
  • Experienced in accounting software (Xero would be advantageous) and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Good organisational and time management skills
