We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy accounts department, supporting various financial functions and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.
Day-to-day of the role:- Download and code various bank transactions to nominal accounts.
- Manage vehicle funding processes and perform monthly reconciliations.
- Handle ad hoc portal site downloads and reconciliations as required.
- Provide support to the Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, and Management Accountant.
- Complete and maintain the cash forecast spreadsheet.
- Reconcile portal site transactions weekly.
- Maintain up-to-date records of demo vehicles and verify insurance database entries.
- Download and reconcile vehicle funding portal data, identifying vehicles that need redeeming.
- Create consolidated invoices as needed.
- Prepare and input timesheets/payroll data.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations to support the Management Accountant.
- Process vehicle tax payments for all depots.
- Reconcile stock vehicle accounts.
- Complete various monthly financial procedures.
- Conduct quarterly VAT reconciliations.
- Reconcile insurance database entries.
- Assist with audit preparation tasks as assigned by the Management Accountant.
- Handle any other ad hoc tasks as required.
- Previous experience in a busy accounts department.
- Comprehensive accounting knowledge, including debit/credit understanding.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to identify and rectify mistakes.
- Strong organizational skills and a team player mentality.
- Full training will be provided on all systems.
- 22 days of holiday plus bank holidays.
