Our client, an innovative, global solutions based organisation, now requires an experienced Business Development Manager, with a focus on improving market position and achieving financial growth through the creation of new clients, enhancing the customer base and the expansion of industry verticals.

There will be an element of flexible/ agile working with this role.

The Role:Reporting to the Sales Manager for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), as the BusinessDevelopment Manager, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • generating new business and building a robust, diverse and in-depth sales pipeline
  • accurately reporting sales forecasts for value, weighting and likely order outcome
  • creating a sales plan and achieving both sales targets and business growth
  • developing a sales budget and market strategy, in collaboration with the Sales Team
  • developing strategic partnerships with manufacturers, vendors and subcontractors
  • delivering sales presentations to prospects and converting opportunities to sales
  • creating and presenting market sector reports for new verticals, technologies, products and services with recommendations
  • mentoring sales personnel to enhance skills and improve performance

The Candidate: Ideally of graduate standard, candidates will also preferably have experience of working within an engineering, manufacturing or commercial / technical based environments.

Candidates for the Business Development Manager role will be required to demonstrate that they have:

  • previous experience of working in a sales management or commercial business development role
  • a proven track record of delivering successful business development initiatives, which achieve sales growth targets
  • previous dealings with data centres and critical infrastructure verticals would be beneficial
  • advanced negotiation skills
  • the ability to be analytical, strategic and results driven with a strong commitment to success and excellence
  • a strong customer focus and outstanding organisational skills
  • a good working knowledge of MS Office applications

In addition, for this Business Development Manager role, candidates should also have:

  • excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible in a challenging environment
  • the capability to be a hands-on type individual, who demonstrates initiative and a positive, professional attitude
  • the ability to work effectively both within a team but also under their own initiative, demonstrating they are a capable individual, who is used to multi-tasking and can prioritise their workload in order to meet exacting deadlines and deliver agreed outcomes
  • the capacity to be a strong, capable leader, with the presence to motivate and influence across all levels of the business

Candidates should note that from time to time, there will be some travel throughout the EMEA region with this role.
