Finance Analyst

• Annual Salary: £34,000
• Location: Hybrid working arrangement 2 days in the office 3 from home

We are seeking a Finance Analyst to join our Finance department. This role involves providing crucial financial analysis and support to optimise pricing strategies, manage costs, and ensure financial efficiency across various business functions. Reporting to the HR and Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing our financial operations.

• Logistics Costing: Analyse and manage logistics costs, including transportation and distribution expenses, to ensure cost-effective operations.
• VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with relevant regulations. Ensure accurate calculation and timely submission to avoid penalties.
• Marketing Costing: Analyse and manage marketing costs, including campaign expenses and promotional activities, to ensure budget adherence and cost efficiency.
• Payroll Costing/Analysis: Conduct detailed payroll cost analysis, ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processing. Provide insights on payroll trends and variances.
• Support Cover for PL & SL: Provide support for Purchase Ledger (PL) and Sales Ledger (SL) functions, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and query resolution.
• Journal Postings: Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Cashflow Forecasting: Maintain and prepare cashflow forecasts for the Finance Manager to review.
• Processing Expenses: Review and process employee expense claims in accordance with company policies. Ensure timely reimbursement and accurate record-keeping.

• Proven experience in financial analysis or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in financial software and Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
