Description

Financial Analyst

  • Analyze production costs, material usage, labor, and overheads to identify variances and provide actionable insights.
  • Conduct monthly cost variance analysis against budget, forecast, and standard costs.
  • Partner with operations and supply chain teams to understand manufacturing drivers and variances.
  • Support the standard costing process and update costs as required within the ERP system.
  • Assist with the preparation of management accounts, monthly commentary, and financial reporting packs.
  • Monitor and evaluate inventory valuation, stock provisions, and work-in-progress balances.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of budgets and forecasts with detailed cost assumptions and justifications.
  • Prepare capex business cases and post-investment appraisals.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost control and process efficiencies.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Profile

A successful 'Accounts Receivable Analyst' should have/be

  • Part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is essential.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Proficient with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills
