We are looking for an Audit Assistant Manager to join an award-nominated audit team within a top 40 accountancy firm. This role offers valuable hands-on experience, career development opportunities, and a healthy work-life balance. In this position, you will take on larger and more complex audit assignments, manage audit planning and completion, and mentor junior team members, building your skills for future managerial roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 80% audit work, 20% accounts preparation
  • Lead audits for clients with turnovers up to £250 million, including specialised audits (such as FSA, pensions, and charities)
  • Prepare draft corporation tax computations, statutory accounts, and consolidated accounts
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff, addressing technical accounting and auditing issues
  • Gradually manage your own portfolio of audit and non-audit clients, fostering strong client relationships and overseeing staff development
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the audit team and assist with business development initiatives

Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Experience in a Chartered Practice, ideally with exposure to a wide range of clients, including pension schemes, LLPs, FCA-regulated entities, and charities
  • Experience with audit and accounts preparation for clients with turnovers up to £40 million
  • Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105 (IFRS experience is a plus)
  • Confident communicator with clients, staff, and senior partners
  • A hands-on, proactive self-starter with the ability to multitask and provide on-the-job training
