Audit Assistant Manager

Salary: Up to £55,000 dependant on experience

AJ Chambers is representing a top 15 firm in search of an Audit Assistant Manager. This firm builds strong, trusted client relationships and serve a diverse range of businesses, from entrepreneurs to multinational corporations. They offer a comprehensive suite of services across the UK, driving growth and long-term success.

Your role Responsibilities

  • Manage client correspondence, scheduling, and audit planning.
  • Supervise and review work of senior and junior staff, ensuring the file is complete and all review points are addressed before it is passed to the partner and manager
  • Handle critical audit areas and occasional advisory work
  • Monitor budgets, deadlines, and progress on audits
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff
  • Assist with business development, tenders, and networking
  • Conduct client on-site visits and appraisals
  • Involved in tenders and presentations on audits & accounts
  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Establish local business contacts/networking
  • Monitor performance of staff working on jobs, including giving feedback after file review.
  • Conduct 6 monthly appraisals for trainees

Your Qualifications/skills needed

  • ACCA/ACA qualified with Strong audit experience (planning to completion)
  • At least 2 years, post-qualification experience
  • Knowledge of accounting standards (SORP, FRS 102)
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Sage, CaseWare, and related software
  • Supervisory experience and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Team building skills
  • Organisational skills
