Position Overview:

This Tax Manager role is based at our Watford office, reporting to a Tax Principal. You'll manage the compliance affairs of a diverse portfolio of corporate and personal clients. This role offers the chance to enhance your technical skills by assisting the Business Tax Team with complex tax issues such as incorporations, IT/CGT planning, R&D claims, reconstructions, demergers, share schemes, and EIS/SEIS. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting tax work in line with the firm’s procedures.
  • Preparing Corporate Tax Returns and handling inquiries.
  • Addressing tax planning issues.
  • Managing a client portfolio under the supervision of the Corporate Tax Principal.
  • Keeping track of Corporation Tax Returns and ensuring timely filing.

Ideal Candidate Skills:

  • CTA qualified (mandatory).
  • Experience in a practice setting.
  • Competence in handling a portfolio of owner-managed businesses (OMBs), managing compliance, and identifying tax planning opportunities. Knowledge of non-corporate taxes is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills for client and colleague interactions.
  • Proficient IT and technical skills.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage junior staff.

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday.

  • Auto-Enrolment Pension Scheme (Employer: 5%; Employee: 3%) subject to eligibility.
