Our client has a vacancy for a commercially astute Divisional Finance Director to manage a busy finance function and to make a commercial contribution to the business. You will report to the Divisional CEO and be a key member of the senior management team. The Business is the leading distributor of branded components and accessories in the UK.

The RoleYou will be responsible for the management of the finance function and will direct all finance activities for the division. You will provide leadership and co-ordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the division. Key Tasks:• Provide direction and leadership to the finance department to ensure the timely production of management accounts.• Motivate and develop the finance team.• Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the business as a key member of the senior management team.• Provide a commercial input in currency management and customer negotiations, working capital control and effective cash management. • Produce high quality rolling forecasts and business models to support commercial decision making.• Ensure strong financial management of the business, its systems and processes.• Responsibility for financial reporting and administration of operations of Irish subsidiary including consolidation into UK accounts.• Provide internal reporting in accordance with Group requirements (dotted reporting line to the Group Finance Director).

Requirements:• Qualified Accountant ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent with at least five years post qualification experience of working as a Finance Director or Manager in a similar sized organisation and with the relevant experience of leading and developing a finance team.• Advanced level of Microsoft Excel (particularly the use of 'Pivots’ and 'LookUp’ tables).• Business Partnering skills.• Excellent communication and presentation skills. • You may well have worked for private or family businesses. • Be empathetic in working with long term customer base of small and medium size and often family-owned businesses.• High attention to detail in a busy environment.• Someone who can simplify and articulate the financial impacts and outcomes of business issues, to non-financial colleagues. A confident communicator to senior colleagues and stakeholders.• Team worker who is able to work just as effectively as an individual.• High level of self-motivation and direction.
