Finance Manager - Operations/Franchise

SRM are working with a well established business in Milton Keynes who are seeking a qualified ambitous Finance Manager to manage & oversee the financial operations for the companies UK franchise operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, financial analysis, integrity of financial data and ensuring business financial performance is understood.

This role will partner with the UK business and Corporate Accounting team in ensuring global accounting policies are adhered to locally as well as Global Controllership team in the US to ensure SOX controls are robustly implemented, documented and tested.

This position requires experience of working in a fast-paced organization while initiating and actioning process improvements alongside driving a fun and inclusive culture across a team of qualified and non-qualified finance professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in the financial close processes (monthly, quarterly and annual) for UK businesses
  • Monitor financial performance, identifying trends and variances from expectations.
  • Lead key financial processes related to the franchise business model ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial information is maintained
  • Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are completed and financial risks and opportunities are managed
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account analyses, and reports on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Drive continuous process improvements to ensure all information is timely and accurate, with a focus on improving timeliness and accuracy of financial information, as well as appropriateness of processes
  • Perform and review various monthly processes, analyses, and reporting

  • Work alongside the UK FP&A team to ensure financial performance and variances are understood.
  • Work with other teams and departments to ensure integrity of accounting controls, processes, and procedures

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant in a UK recognized accounting qualification ideally with management reporting and month end close experience (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Knowledge of Netsuite
  • Reporting experience under both UK and US GAAP
  • Experience in a Regional Accounting team in an international / public company environment.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, independent thinker with experience of improving processes.
  • Franchise experience preferred
  • Proficient PC skills and experience with financial applications (Excel, Word, Hyperion, NetSuite)
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment and to adapt to new situations
