Finance Manager/Projects Accounting

Milton Keynes - flexible working options

Up to £50k per annum

Agenda Partnership have partnered with one of our favourite brands. Within this role you will manage the Finance function for Projects Accounting for the group of companies and ensure that schemes have all the cost allocated and processed as per current legislation and financial requirements.

This role would suit a part qualified or fully qualified accountant.

You will also need to provide information on the financial performance of the business, including explicit and illuminating analysis and robust financial/commercial advice.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with the Chief Executive, Finance Manager, Programme Manager and other staff on matters relating to all project accounting aspects of the work carried out
  • Ensure that all cost are recorded and updated in accordance with current legislation, reviewed and analysed on the monthly basis.
  • Take responsibility for capital cashflow, and maintain and review it on the regular basis
  • Manage the full financial activities related to projects within the organisation, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that financial records are aligned with project milestones and compliance requirements.
  • Review invoicing and journals relating to the schemes making sure the posted cost can be capitalised as per current legislation
  • Calculate and post Management Fees across all the schemes as per intercompany agreements.
  • Prepare and maintain the monthly and yearly forecast for completed units
  • Hold responsibility for the accurate and timely preparation of monthly reports (Performance, Management, Financial, and Audit) for internal, Board, and external circulation
  • Monitor budgets throughout the year, liaising with budget holders and reporting variances on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Review monthly reconciliations for all Balance Sheet accounts relating to WIP stock and retentions
  • Responsible for CIS returns, including suppliers verification process and dealing with HRMC regarding the returns.

Additional responsibilities

  • Foster and build strong internal relationships with Delivery Team and provide them with the necessary assistance and professional advice to assist them with the financial aspects of their duties
  • Implement, maintain, and review schemes’ cashflows, and analysing the monthly spend per different cost type.
  • Business partnering with the stakeholders across the business (including solicitors and EA organisations and developers)
  • Carry out appraisals, supervising and support as required
  • Attend Management Team, and other key meetings
  • Work with the Finance Director/ Chief Operating Officer and Finance Manager to deliver strategic projects

Experience/Skills required

  • Qualified of Part Qualified Accountant - CIMA, ACCA, ACA
  • Working experience within housing or social housing would be advantageous
  • Completed CIS returns would also be advantageous
  • Advanced Excel user - is mandatory
