The Open University is seeking a dynamic and experienced recruiter to join our dedicated team of professionals. As a recruiter, you will play a vital role in delivering a proactive, innovative, and high-touch recruitment service. You will support key recruitment initiatives and provide expert guidance to hiring managers to attract, assess, and hire top talent across a diverse range of roles.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and support on a wide range of recruitment activities, including candidate attraction, pre-screening, engagement, and direct sourcing.
  • Manage multiple recruitment campaigns and projects to support the organisation's strategic objectives.
  • Act as a brand ambassador to promote The Open University’s employee value proposition through various channels, including social media, job fairs, and networking events.
  • Collaborate with outsourced suppliers and partners to ensure effective delivery of contracted services.
  • Deliver a high-touch recruitment service focused on continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive experience in a senior in-house recruitment role within a complex organisation, acting as a subject matter expert.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law related to recruitment and pre-employment vetting, specific to the UK.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and create high-quality written content.
  • Strong ability to manage changing workloads, multiple tasks, and competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Resilient and tenacious, with the capacity to manage emotions effectively under pressure.
  • Competence in data analysis to inform recruitment strategy and monitor performance.
  • Proficient in using applicant tracking systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors Recruitment) and Microsoft Office/Office 365 applications (PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams).
