About the Role:Our client, a leading organisation within the retail industry, is seeking a skilled and motivated 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their IT team on a permanent basis. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd line technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Work closely with 1st line support to resolve escalated issues efficiently.
  • Maintain and support IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and peripherals.
  • Assist in the management of Active Directory, Office 365, and other core business applications.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers for advanced technical support.
  • Document technical processes, issue resolutions, and system configurations.
  • Support IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
  • Ensure adherence to IT security and compliance policies.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a 2nd line support role within a retail or similar fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and Office 365.
  • Experience with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Familiarity with ITIL principles and best practices.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues effectively.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL) are desirable.
