About the Role

On behalf of The Open University, Pertemps is recruiting for an experienced IT Change Manager. This role involves overseeing the operational implementation of a well-established Change Management process based on ITILv3. It is a short-term opportunity while The Open University recruits a permanent role holder.

The IT Change Manager will ensure the effective delivery of Change Management processes across all Open University Digital and IT Services. You will play a key role in managing the complete lifecycle of changes within a structured and controlled environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Record, evaluate, authorise, prioritise, plan, test, implement, document, and review all changes.
  • Assess changes for risk and impact.
  • Collaborate with auditors to ensure accurate management of changes.
  • Lead the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to approve and authorise changes.
  • Maintain a Forward Schedule of Change and resolve any scheduling conflicts.
  • Monitor compliance with established Change Management processes.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Negotiate suitable change windows with business units.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:
  • Formal ITILv3/4 certification(s).
  • Proven practical experience in operational Change Management.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • A professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • A flexible and team-oriented mindset.
