Location: UK Remote
Salary: £60,000 - £90,000

Are you a creative and geeky developer with a passion for building robust backend systems at scale? We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help design and implement scalable, efficient backend solutions using Python and Go (Golang). This is a great opportunity for someone who has a keen interest in Cyber Security. Alongside a starting salary of between £60k- £90k, they have some excellent benefits including unlimited annual leave and equity in the business. For this role you MUST be resident and eligible to work in the UK, unsupported by a visa.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and developing backend systems with a focus on scalability and performance.
• Building automation frameworks and solutions in Python and Go, leveraging AWS and containerization technologies.
• Working with databases
• Creating backend systems that integrate with cybersecurity exploit delivery (no need to understand the exploit code itself).
• Writing clean, maintainable, and testable code, including unit tests and bug fixes.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including cyber experts, to deliver creative solutions.

About You

You are an experienced backend engineer who thrives on building scalable and efficient systems. You are passionate about software development, have a curious mind, and enjoy solving complex problems.

What You'll Bring:

• Proficiency in Python and Go (Golang).
• Hands-on experience with AWS, containers (e.g., Docker), and backend system design.
• Strong understanding of databases and their appropriate use cases.
• A software engineering mindset with a focus on creative problem-solving.
• Ability to design for scalability and efficiency in large systems.
• Experience in writing unit tests and taking ownership of your code quality.

Bonus Points For:

• Knowledge or interest in cybersecurity (e.g., OSCP certification or hobbyist projects).
• Understanding of offensive security concepts (though they can teach you the specifics).
• Background in building backend systems for large-scale environments.
