Director of Customer Service
Seeking an individual with a wealth and depth of experience that would command a salary of up to 100k (DOE).

We are excited to announce an exciting opportunity for a passionate and strategic leader to take on the role of Director of Customer Service. Our client is an innovative, privately owned manufacturer dedicated to providing cutting-edge solutions that empower food processing businesses to thrive in a competitive landscape. In this position, you will lead our customer service teams and develop a forward-thinking strategy to ensure that our customers feel supported throughout their entire journey—before, during, and after their purchases.
As the Director of Customer Service, you will report directly to the Managing Director and oversee all aspects of our customer service approach.
You will also play a key role in our UK management team, focusing on driving the company’s performance and growth.
Who We’re Looking for:
- Experienced leader with significant management under your belt
- Technical or engineering background with a strong customer focus
- Perfect for a Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, or Technical Manager already experienced in this arena and seeking a different challenge
- Hands-on approach, ready to lead a team including the entire service function (circa half the business)
- Passionate about keeping customers and people at the heart of everything
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all service operations
- Lead Field Service Managers, Internal Service Managers, and the Technical Support Manager team to hit company service goals
- Drive process improvements to boost customer satisfaction and profitability, from quotation to delivery
- Coach, train, and mentor your team to reach their full potential
- Support recruitment for key business roles as needed
- Protect and strengthen customer relationships, stepping in with technical expertise where required
- Partner with the Service team to refine processes
- Build a strong rapport with equipment suppliers and strengthen existing relationships
- Ensure customer needs are met as seen as paramount, addressed quickly and leave them feeling valued
What You’ll Bring
- Proven leadership (15+ years’ experience) with a servant-leadership style
- Deep technical knowledge (e.g., motors, gearboxes, PLCs, pneumatics, CAN bus, high-voltage power)
- Customer relations expertise (sales, conflict resolution, project management)
- Ability to motivate technical specialists in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Talent for creating structure and delivering on plans
