At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for Senior Manufacturing Operator to work with an important company in Milton Keynes.
The Senior Manufacturing Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the rotary pouch filling lines/sack filling lines in our production facility. This includes managing the efficient, safe, and effective operation of the equipment, supervising the production team, ensuring product quality standards are met, and maintaining compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.
Shift Patterns:
Monday to Friday
06:00-15:00
08:00-17:00
13:00-22:00
Must be flexible to work any days, including Sundays across shifts as these may fluctuate.
Pay Rates
£15.38
As a Senior Manufacturing Operator you will need to have:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment with a background in machine operation.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with food safety standards and quality control processes.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks (e.g., lifting, bending, walking).
Ability to work in an active, production-oriented environment.
Role of a Senior Manufacturing Operator:
Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the rotary pouch filling lines/preblend packing lines.
Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the pouch filling lines/preblend packing lines.
Monitor production output resloving operational issues promptly and working with site engineering teams to escalate any mechanical issues.
Supervise and train production line operators and assistants.
Assign tasks and responsibilities, ensuring optimal productivity and safety.
Maintain a positive and productive work environment, addressing team concerns and performance issues as needed.
Ensure all filled pouches/sacks meet quality standards, including weight accuracy, sealing integrity, and packaging presentation.
Perform regular inspections of raw materials and final products to ensure compliance with food safety and quality regulations.
Implement corrective actions in case of product defects or deviations from specifications.
Ensure Critical Control Point checks and pre start checks are carried out in accordance of site procedure and report any CCP issues to site management team/quality team
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and hygiene standards.
Enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment.
Ensure that all production activities comply with company policies and regulatory standards, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
Oversee routine maintenance of rotary pouch filling machines and related equipment.
Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, liaising with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate records of production output, machine performance, and any incidents or delays.
Report any deviations, issues, or potential risks to the Production Manager.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
