  • Day shifts (5 days out of 7), between 06:00 - 20:00.
  • Overtime during peak periods and weekend availability as needed.

Job Description:

Join a dynamic and fast-growing technical supplier as a Yard Manager! You’ll play a vital role within the Milton Keynes warehouse, managing the busy Yard team to help ensure successful project preparation and service delivery across the UK. This role reports to the Warehouse Manager and calls for a proactive, energetic team player with a hands-on management approach.

Key Responsibilities of a Yard Manager:

  • Lead the team, working closely with other department heads.
  • Uphold health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance both at the warehouse and on-site.
  • Oversee daily vehicle movements and maintain yard organisation.
  • Support Warehouse Manager with planning and executing daily operations.
  • Ensure cleanliness and order in work areas.
  • Load and unload vehicles on a schedule-driven basis.
  • Check in, check out, and store equipment accurately.
  • Complete training as needed and embrace opportunities for professional development.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in team management within a busy environment.
  • Knowledge of staging, scaffolding, and Layher components.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible with time; ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.
  • Physical and technical aptitude to manage both manual and logistical tasks.
  • Proficiency in Maths and basic computer skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Forklift license (advantageous but not required).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office; knowledge of Hiretrack software is a bonus.
  • C1 or C2 driving license is desirable.
