Procurement Category Manager (Digital & STEM)We are looking for a Procurement Category Manager to support the Digital Services and STEM categories. This role is vital in providing a professional procurement service, including stakeholder engagement, tendering, commercial negotiation, and supplier management. You’ll ensure procurement aligns with financial, environmental, health & safety, and ethical standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop sourcing strategies with key stakeholders, advising on procurement routes and evaluating commercial and regulatory risks.
  • Lead tendering activities in compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Prepare tender documentation and manage supplier negotiations for optimal terms.
  • Produce reports to support category planning and savings targets.
  • Oversee purchase requisitions and contract requests, ensuring policy compliance.
  • Build strong networks with internal stakeholders to facilitate procurement processes.
Skills & Experience:
  • CIPS qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Public sector procurement knowledge, including PCR 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23), or experience in procuring IT, digital services, or lab equipment.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience drafting tender documents and managing public sector procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
