Dunbar Education, a leading recruitment agency specialising in education, is currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a SEN provision in Milton Keynes. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one prior to employment.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential, as the successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans), learning needs, and strategies to engage learners with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) challenges.
  • Ideally, candidates should hold a qualification relevant to education, enabling a deep understanding of the paperwork and processes involved.
  • Ability to work closely, and in some cases one-on-one, with learners, providing tailored support as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workload independently and prioritise tasks effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with learners, providing individualised support and implementing strategies to facilitate their learning and development.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure the needs of learners are met effectively.
  • Utilise knowledge of EHCPs and learning needs to contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate support plans.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of engaging learning activities, tailored to the specific needs of learners with SEMH challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to learner progress and support interventions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the well-being and social development of all learners.
