Supply Desk is seeking to appoint a flexible and proactive SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Autism and global development delay to work 5 days per week in a school located in the Oxford area. The ideal teaching assistant will be experienced and equipped with the necessary life skills and experiences in supporting children with severe and complex learning difficulties.

The Role and the Ideal Candidate: 

  • Have prior experience or a strong interest in working with people who have special needs
  • Have a background in education, care, psychology, or drama, as these are all highly transferable skills
  • Sensitivity and comprehension
  • patience and the capacity to remain cool under pressure
  • Be adaptable and open to new experiences
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of teaching and the ability to design courses
  • The ability to understand child’s reactions
