About the Role

As a Support Worker/SEN TA, you'll be at the heart of these students' learning journey, working closely with each student to overcome their barriers to learning. The role extends beyond the classroom, involving "out-and-about" activities to help students apply their learning in real-world settings and build essential life skills.

This community-based role involves meeting students at their homes or designated meeting bases, and accompanying them to local activities and learning experiences, which is why access to a car is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Individualised Support: Work closely with each student to provide tailored support that addresses their unique challenges, promoting emotional well-being and engagement with their learning.
  • Community Integration: Students will be assisted in participating in activities within the community, fostering independence, social skills, and practical learning experiences outside the school setting.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside teachers, key workers, and families to meet each student's educational and emotional needs.
  • Safety and Well-being: Ensure that all safeguarding and health protocols are followed at all times, prioritising the safety and comfort of the students.
Requirements:
  • Access to own car is essential (please do not apply if you do not have this).
  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Prior experience supporting students with SEN/SEMH needs is desirable but not required.

This role is perfect for a caring, proactive individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of students with additional needs, supporting them in both educational and real-life settings. If you're ready to inspire and support these young learners, we would love to hear from you!
