About the Role:As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support in their learning journey. You will assist in developing individualised learning plans, implementing sensory strategies, and promoting a nurturing and structured environment. This role requires patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting the diverse needs of students.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with Autism.
- Implement and adapt learning strategies to meet individual needs.
- Support students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Assist in managing challenging behaviours using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic development.
- Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Experience working with children with Autism, preferably in an educational setting.
- A compassionate and resilient approach to supporting students with SEN.
- Knowledge of autism-friendly teaching strategies and communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, visual supports).
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and colleagues.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEND qualification) is desirable but not essential.
