About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Employability Teacher to join the dynamic team at an SEN (Special Educational Needs) provision in Milton Keynes. This rewarding role focuses on supporting children aged 12-18 with diverse needs, equipping them with essential life and work skills to thrive beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging employability and life skills lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN.
  • Foster independence and confidence by teaching practical skills such as CV writing, interview techniques, teamwork, and problem-solving.
  • Develop individual learning plans (ILPs) and track progress, ensuring every student achieves their personal goals.
  • Collaborate with support staff, families, and external agencies to create a holistic and inclusive learning environment.
  • Organize work experience placements and liaise with local businesses to provide real-world opportunities for students.
  • Promote a positive, nurturing, and supportive atmosphere where all students can achieve their potential.

About You:
We are looking for an inspiring and resourceful teacher who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with SEN.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEN, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, or other learning difficulties.
  • A strong understanding of employability skills and career preparation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • A creative and adaptable approach to teaching, with a commitment to student-centered learning.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in delivering vocational qualifications or employability programs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience working in a specialist SEN setting.
