MPI is looking for a Permanent Supply Chain Manager, for our client based in Milton Keynes

 

Permanent role

Salary – to be discussed

Monday – Friday (one day WFH)

 

The role:

The role holder would be accountable for the purchase of all material into the business unit, production planning and Warehouse processes. This role will require close working with operations to create workload schedules, ensuring the order book can be fulfilled on time, with a focus on negotiation and close monitoring of pricing to enable improved margins, and the close management of suppliers to drive supplier performance.

The role holder will need to manage the team effectively to ensure they deliver operationally and remain engaged to deliver to our internal and external customers, developing our suppliers and supply base to ensure all supply risks are minimised wherever possible.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Responsible for the purchase and planning of all material that comes into the business unit
  2. Responsible for the production planning within the business unit (utilising eProcurement & eCapacity)
  3. Responsible for all Warehouse activities and improvement projects.
  4. Manage a purchase volume of approx. 15M$
  5. Working together with operations to create workload schedules to ensure the order book can be fulfilled on time
  6. The effective leadership and development of the supply chain team
  7. Develop our suppliers and supply base to ensure all supply risks are minimised
  8. Responsible for all inventory and procurement metrics within the business
  9. Develop strategy inventory reduction opportunities (LT & MOQ reduction, consigned stock etc)
  10. Manage actions to improve supplier performance (SRPPM & SLISC)
  11. Ensure adherence to EBI compliance & renewing of supplier LTA’s
  12. Negotiating and monitoring pricing to enable improved margins
  13. Working on NPI, PCI, SbD & other cost down initiatives
  14. Completing supplier selection & assessments
  15. Conduct logistic analysis to determine most cost effective, efficient modes and methods with both suppliers and customers.

 

Key accountabilities:

 

  1. Ensure the business unit has the required materials and components to deliver the production plan. This includes the internal flow of materials from receipt to despatch.
  2. Manage the production plan to ensure the orderbook can be achieved, including supporting the reduction of backlog where possible
  3. Be an active member of the PFSE leadership team to drive engagement and performance of the business unit
  4. Improve supplier performance by managing the supplier closely to drive accountability and close out of any outstanding actions.

  5. Delegation of responsibility through Managers and their teams

 

Requirements and competencies:

 

  1. Tenacity and determination
  2. Experience in working in supply chain or similar role/function, ideally with leadership experience
  3. Experience of managing others is preferable
  4. Intellect – ability to understand complexity and give direction
  5. Customer orientated
  6. Consistency in judgements and fair in dealings with others
  7. Ability to think things through and arrive at a reasoned decision
  8. Resilient in challenging situations
  9. Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend suitable opportunities
  10. Must have functional understanding of cost accounting and adopt to practical application
  11. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
  12. Must be an innovator and embrace lean enterprises principles and practices
