As an experienced nurse, you will take a lead role in the care of complex care clients, ensuring their needs are met with excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, managing care plans, conducting clinical assessments, and providing guidance to or team of carers. You will collaborate closely with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to ensure the highest standard of care.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (Band 6 equivalent minimum)
  • Train the Trainer or Nursing Mentorship Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience in training and signing off carers for competency in complex care management.

Skills & Expertise:

You will provide training and oversight for the team in managing the following conditions:

  • Spinal cord injury
  • Mechanical ventilation
  • Gastronomy tube management (feeding and drug administration)
  • Dysreflexia & Dysphagia
  • PEG management
  • Catheter care
  • Suctioning
  • Neurogenic bowel/bladder management, including manual evacuation
  • Oxygen administration
  • BiPap, CPap, Nebuliser management
  • Tracheostomy care and cough assistance
  • Stoma care
  • Anaphylaxis and EpiPen use
  • Epilepsy management, including advanced care and PR medication administration

What will your role look like?

  • Lead and manage the care for complex care clients
  • Perform clinical assessments, reviews, and develop person-centred care plans
  • Order medical supplies and ensure accurate documentation
  • Provide expert support and guidance to the care team, ensuring competency in managing complex conditions
  • Liaise with the MDT to ensure holistic care is delivered
