The Financial Controller is responsible for managing the finance team and overseeing all financial reporting, providing critical analysis, guidance, and support to department managers and the Board.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end close processes, including accruals and deferred income.
- Produce monthly management accounts and departmental finance reports.
- Collaborate with department managers to identify areas for efficiency improvements and enhanced financial performance.
- Engage and develop the Finance Team in alignment with company needs.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, CIS, corporation tax) with external advisor support.
- Oversee external audits.
- Manage the integration of clients from M&A activities.
- Assist the Finance Director with budgeting, financial modeling, and process improvements.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Advanced Excel skills.

Experience:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Controller.
Experience in a fast-paced SME environment; service industry experience is beneficial.
Excellent knowledge of accounting/ERP systems (e.g., MS Dynamics).
Strong skills in MS Excel; good knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
