Semi Skilled Mechanic/ Parts Technician

Are you an experienced Automotive Parts Advisor /Parts Technician with a good understanding of how vehicles work? Are you looking to merge your knowledge and experience together?

We are recruiting for a Semi-Skilled GSE/ Parts Technician to join the team at Stansted Airport paying £30,000 (likely to increase to £31,500) Working Monday – Friday 0800 – 1600.

This role covers the stores environment to receive, store, issue and record the traceability of all raw materials, fluids, equipment, spares, tools, PPE, consumables, and client provided materials on the site. The Stores Person will be trained in all aspects of day to day activities that take place in a busy stores environment.

You may also be required to carry out minor first fix repairs, fluid top ups, battery changes, battery charging, customer fleet inspections, driving duties and driver checks on a wide range of vehicles

Main Duties

Parts Technician

Materials Issue

×         Deliver materials/equipment/items to shop floor/work areas as required/other TCR locations

×         To identify and understand the requirement of the technician

×         Provide prompt and courteous counter service for personnel calling in at stores to collect items

×         Respond to telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner

×         Issue materials to the GSE Technicians, ensuring that all paperwork is signed off correctly

×         Purchase from local suppliers as and when required

×         Pick and pack stock orders ready for delivery to outstations

×         Ensure parts are correctly booked to relevant workorders (in-house software used to manage the day to day business)

×         Updating Supervisor regularly with the pending parts status

Goods Inward

×         Check and Receipt of deliveries to site

×         Unload delivery vehicles in a safe and timely manner

×         Drive company Fork Lift Truck (dependent on licence)

Stock Control

×         Participate in stock counts and reconciliation against ELC inventory

×         Ensure stock items have appropriate bar codes attached always

×         Ensure full traceability of all stored materials/items

×         Ensure all items are appropriately stored for their size and weight

GSE Semi-Skilled Technician:

×         Comply with Health and Safety Legislation and internal H&S procedures including use of company issued mobile tablets and company mobile phones.

×         Liaise with the Duty Manager and Workshop colleagues to provide updates on job status and progress where required.

×         Carry out other reasonable duties as required to support operational requirements.

×         To take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions.

×         Literate, analytical, numerate with good IT skills

×         General knowledge of health and safety regulations

×         Excellent communication skills

×         Minimum Level of engineering knowledge

×         Minimum Level 1 in City & Guilds or B-tech or equivalent

×         Full driving licence essential

×         Able to obtain a full airside pass
