Permanent Director of Finance Immediately Required

Location: South Wales – (Full time onsite 5 days per week)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Contract: Permanent

Salary Rate: £70k - £80k DOE

Day to Day Duties: Full JD available upon request

  • Oversight: financial due diligence, compliance, and reporting T/O c. £20m
  • Strategy development: investments, budgets, plans, forecasts, KPIs, financial modelling
  • Regulatory Compliance: for example: statutory reporting, HMRC, Charity Commission, Audit
  • Financial services and operations: for example, payroll, operational reporting, and cashflow management
  • Line management for the Finance Department developing effective and efficient working practices and promoting high performance
  • Work with the Bursar and HR Manager in the recruitment and appointment of suitably experienced and qualified staff
  • Manage the induction, training and ongoing development of the finance team ensuring succession planning and progression of staff is delivered
  • Attend meetings of the Finance and Estates committee and Audit committee and of any other committees and working groups as required
  • Work collaboratively with other senior support staff and attend regular meetings of this team
  • Uphold the School’s money laundering policy, upholding the highest ethical standards and leading by example

Essential Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Charity/Education Experience Preferable
  • Extensive leadership and management skills developed at a senior level in a large and complex organisation
