  • Our client is looking for a Mechanical Designer to join their team in Westlakes, with a salary of £40,000 to £50,000 per year.
  • The candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in mechanical design and be able to obtain BPSS and SC clearance.
  • Responsibilities include designing mechanical pipework fabrication, producing CDM documentation, and interfacing with various project functions.
  • The ideal candidate should have an ONC/HNC in a Mechanical Design discipline and be proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of fabrication standards and familiarity with the Sellafield site and procedures is preferred.

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join their team based at Westlakes.

This role working inside IR35, requires the successful candidate to hold, or be able to obtain, BPSS clearance and SC clearance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Embedded in an existing Design team, the successful candidate will be involved in the design and production of mechanical pipework fabrication and the installation of ISO’s and GA’s.
Production of CDM documentation and RAMS.
Planning and prioritising own work to ensure requirements are within time, scope and cost.
The role requires interface with the client, Integrated Design Team, existing facility team (including System Engineers), and other typical project functions.
Create designs in line with client and company procedure, regulations and client standards.
Provide support and answer technical queries throughout the production and installation process.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

ONC/HNC in a Mechanical Design discipline
Proficient in using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Packages.
Preliminary and detailed design packages.
Knowledge and experience of Asset Care and Condition Assessments preferable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work collaboratively within a team.
Knowledge of fabrication standards.
Familiar with Engineering Standards, terms and abbreviations.
Knowledge of the Sellafield site and procedures would be advantageous.
