Service Care Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of a London Borough Council who are seeking a Housing Lawyer to assist the team with Housing Law matters. Please find below further details with regards to this role.

ROLE: Housing Litigation Lawyer
LOCATION: South London
RATE: 40.00 to 50.00 per hour LTD (DOE and interview performance)
CONTRACT: Initial 3 months with possibility of extension

Please note that this role would be hybrid working (1 or 2 days per week in the office)

The Role of the Housing Lawyer

  • To independently manage a full caseload of Housing Litigation matters through to completion
  • Matters will include housing possessions, anti-social behaviour injunctions, housing disrepair and homelessness
  • Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate experience of handling a complex caseload of this nature including drafting and advocacy

The Person

  • A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with a minimum of 2 years' PQE
  • Previous experience of progressing disrepair and housing prosecutions work would be essential
  • Working experience at a public sector authority would also be highly beneficial for this role
  • Experience of working for a local authority or social landlord in this context
